Parvatipur Upazila is one of the most developed upazilas of Dinajpur district. Parvatipur Upazila has the biggest challenge junction of Bangladesh. The production capacity is 525 MW. The electricity generated from this thermal power plant is being delivered to around 16 districts around Dinajpur. It is located 15 km from Parvatipur bus terminal. Coal Mine Barapukuria Coal Mine Bangladesh's only operational coal mine was discovered in 985. As you can see above the houses, the coal is being lifted up from the ground.
