The website of each region of Bengal has a rich past history. Different kings have ruled it since ancient times and these nobles or zamindars have built wonderful buildings with skillful craftsmanship for their residence. Brazza or king's state is just a silent witness of history. Some of the zamindarbari are about 400 to 500 years old and some of them are older than that. Among the royal houses that still survive in different parts of Bangladesh is Raja Tanknath's royal house. .Rajbari of Raja Tongknath located in Ranishankail Upazila, about 40 km from Thakurgaon Upazila Sadar, was built in the late 19th century with an area of about 10 acres on the banks of the Kulik River. At that time, it belonged to Malduar Pargana, which was later included in Ranishankail Upazila.
This palace has a long history. The ancestors of King Tongnath were neither rich nor zamindars. Seven kilometers east of the present Ranishankail Upazila Sadar, a childless zamindar of Goala clan lived in a place called Katihar. Tongaknath's Vidya Buddhinath worked as a service. At the time of his departure, he gave a deed that if he did not return, Buddhinath, the servant of the temple, would become the owner of this zamindar.King Tongnath's father Buddhi Nath, but many people think that the day of this incident may come out on the last day of 21 Purushpur. In personal life, Gupinath had three children Ramnath Takkanath Gaurang Nath. Ram died prematurely. At the time of Tanknath, he did various social welfare works to gain the trust of the British. He formed Malduar State to gain the trust of the British. His wife's name was Jayarama Sankari Devi and later Malda district was named after Ranishankail. Ranishankail Raja Tongknath's Chowdhury was not a very large-scale zamindar, but they were aristocrats. Kamithi was not on November 18, 1925 at the then British Bhavnar House, the British government of King Tongnath conferred the title of Chowdhury.
It is said that on the invitation of Tongnath, when Baralat and Maharaja Girijanath of Dinajpur came to Ranishankail, he lavished money on the invited guests and gave them a royal reception and presented them with enough gold ornaments. The name of Tongaknath was King Tongaknath. In 1911 he was the only person in the then greater Dinajpur districtwho passed BA from Calcutta Presidency College named after Vidya Buddhi Nath Chowdhury, he established the then BNN Institute which is now known as Ranishankail Pilot High School as an educationist he not only established educational institutions but also rich in various books his collection of various books still Dinajpur Government College and Carmichael Preserved in the college library, it is known from history that their Vidyabuddhi Nag Raj started the construction of the house but he could not finish the construction of the end house while he was alive. Later Raja Tongnath's Rajbari completed the unfinished work. The palace has a huge lion door on the west side. About 200 meters away from the prominent Rajbari is the Ramchandra Jai Kali Mandir on the banks of the Kulik River, much older than another Rajbari. During the partition of 1947, the Chowdhury family of Raja Tongnath moved to India, thereby ending the zamindari dynasty of Raja Tongnath Chowdhury of Malduwa State. As a result, this palace has become neglected because it has not been renovated for a long time and has turned into a forest. It is now an abandoned house. The walls of the house are dilapidated and cracked in every part. This building may be but still a skeleton of a broken body, with the memory of the reign of the king, this once glorious traditional palace stands tall.
